Designing in-car emotion-aware automation

Driver behaviour recognition is of paramount importance for in-car automation assistance. It widely recognized that not only attentional states, but also emotional ones have an impact on the safety driving behaviour. This research work proposes emotion-aware architecture where it possible to adapt driver’s emotions vehicle dynamics, investigating correlations between negative states and performances, suggesting a system regulate engagement through unique user experience (e.g. using music, LED lighting) in car cabin. The relationship altered induced auditory stimuli dynamics investigated simulator. results confirm need both types information improve robustness driver state function open up possibility can modify performance somehow.
